PUBG Rules
One of the original battle royale games — up to 100 players, one shrinking map, last one standing wins.
Solo, duo or squad matches; a league tracks placement and eliminations across several matches per round.
- •Points-based scoring: placement points plus a point per elimination, same convention as other battle royale titles
- •League table totals points across the season's matches
- •Tiebreaker: most match wins ('chicken dinners'), then most total eliminations
- •Agree the exact points table before the season starts
- •Agree solo/duo/squad format and map rotation

Match series and points
PUBG's competitive scoring uses a placement scale plus points per elimination across a series of four to six matches, rotating maps. As with any battle royale, results only stabilise across a series rather than a single game.
Map rotation matters more here than in most battle royales because the maps differ enormously in size and vehicle dependence. Fixing a rotation for the season makes results comparable and lets teams prepare properly.
Squad composition and third-party play
Four-player squads need a roster of five or six to keep a season running. Registered substitutes are essential, and a league should decide whether a squad can play a match with three if someone drops out.
PUBG rewards patience more than most shooters, and a scoring system weighted towards placement will produce very passive matches. Balancing kill points against placement points is what keeps a league watchable and worth playing.
Common questions
How long is a match?
Around thirty minutes for a full game, so a four-match series fills an evening. That length is the main constraint on how many fixtures a PUBG league can schedule per week.
First person or third person?
First-person perspective is the competitive standard because third person allows peeking around cover without exposure. Pick one for the season, as the tactical game is genuinely different between them.
How do you handle team collisions in a lobby?
In a custom lobby every team is playing the same match, so contact between league teams is the point. Public-match leagues cannot guarantee that, which is why custom servers matter for a serious season.
What scoring split works best?
Most leagues weight placement more heavily than kills but keep kill points meaningful, often one point per elimination against ten to fifteen for a win. Adjust after a few match days based on how passive the games have been.
Which maps should a season use?
Fix a rotation of two or three at the start of the season. The maps differ enormously in size and vehicle dependence, so a season that includes every map favours whichever team happens to prefer the ones that came up most.
